There are a lot of fundraisers at parks for the Lion's Club or the Fire Department. Pic nic type stuff. People generally spend the day outdoors. Around here a lot of folks go out on the river to watch all the fireworks.

When I was wee I went one time with my father to buy all the fireworks for the Fire Dept fish fry. Those were good times, sitting on a blanket on the banks of the river watching the fireworks.
