Thanks Tommy.
Is that the trailer they made JCO take down? To God, every living being is beautiful... Except for you.
Now I'm cravingChips 'n dip..
too cold to go out & buy some. se la vie
Yee ha, I found some...II mixed some cream cheese and cool whip...
not too bad with nachos, oh ya and onion soup (just a little)
it's been a while since I've been on here, lol...
anyways... Why does it not surprise me that they would push back the release of the film? I guess being cut up into little pieces with blood, gore, and guts being flung around isn't as bad as releasing a gay flick....this country is screwed up in so many ways..... Just release the movie and deal with it. It's a movie and it's based on a real story. Get use to it, critics...you wouldn't turn down a slasher film if it hit you in the face.. Just release it already. BTW...along with being a huge Jim Carrey fan Ewan McGregor is my #2 of my fav actors. I'm getting impatient for waiting for a movie to be release. I don't believe there has been another movie that has been delayed like this..well, to my knowledge. Schmoyoho-oh-oh-oh accent on the YO!
I see your point....You are right there is already too much blood and gore on the screen
today, there does need to be a change. Oft times people don't see the other side of the story and perhaps this is the other side of the story. Personally I really don't want to see the intimate things that go on, the idea of what is going to happen is good enough "for example: when a man and woman or in this case a man and a man ,are embraced and look at each other with love struck eyes, then slowly close the door in front of the camera, (or in this case Broll of a wave surging the boat up gently and rocking and the boat would basically be good enough to give the idea) any guy who has done something like that knows what's going to happen, people were'nt born yesterday. And the idea is brought across tactfuly and with taste(excuss the pun) No offense intended. I probably won't see it due to the "Restricted" part, but there are probably some who want to see this, I just hope it doesn't put a dent in Jim's career, in something like this it has affected people negitively, sorry to say. The reality is Actors are Actors, but many associate the Actor with the Movie. In order to tell the opposing part of story, "there is opposition in all things" there has to be the opposite side portrayed, but reality is it should be done with tact and taste not grinding down the story to the bare bones with detail. Seems to me it's more costly and time consuming. Use peoples imaginations, that's what it's there for.
You do bring up a good point, several in fact. And the example you use, you are right. It doesn't take too much to know what happens. But it's not that fact, in my opinion. You didn't offend me you stated you opinion and you are entitled to. I do see your side of it and agree but it's just the fact of "gay" period. Everyone has an opinion and has shown it.
I just feel that they are making a mountain out of a mole hill... I believe that Jim did a great job (from what I've seen in the trailer and previews) but there is always that chance that it can hurt him; this is where I admire him. He did the movie probably because of the context of the relationship between Phillip and Steven. Not that he's turning a new leaf or what not. I mean Ewan has been in a few flicks like this; Velvet Goldmine, The Pillow Book and one other I can't think of, and nothing has been necessarily hurt on his behalf or his career. You take risks and you see where they go. Jim did that when we was on stage when he was 15 and was booed off the stage. He went back knowing that it was a risk, but he took the risk and look where he is today. Schmoyoho-oh-oh-oh accent on the YO!
AgreedI haven't seen the movie yet, the trailers just don't show
what is there. Until it comes out we really can't make a solid evaluation.
I agree with what Jim said on twitter; I hope they don't cut out the high points once it gets to the US because they're scared. If they do 1) I'll be pissed and 2) I'll have to buy the Region 2 DVD on Amazon.
anyway, I like the videos they have on the site, and I absolutely LOVE that trailer.
