Bruce Almighty (my review)

Hi All,<br><br>Well...just got back from a matinee showing of "Bruce Almighty". Quite simply, it's a good movie...but not great.<br><br>It starts off very promising...lots of classic Carrey antics and loads of physical humor. Unfortunately, it slowly becomes a "chick flick" (romantic comedy).<br><br>I wish Jim could find a new script that would allow him to spread his wings and improvise the way he did in "Liar Liar".<br><br>Jim was infinitely funnier during his week long TV appearances promoting "Bruce Almighty" than was the film itself.<br><br>In fact, there are times in the new film that things get downright serious...not a bad thing, but then again, this is NOT how the film is being promoted by the adverts or even by Jim himself.<br><br>In the spirit of the film though, I will say a prayer tonight that Jim will agree to reprise his role in a third "Ace Ventura" film.<br><br>Bottom line, I know Jim is capable of so much more...and it bums me out that he was not allowed to shine in "Bruce Almighty".<br><br>Cheers,<br>Dan<br><br><br> <p></p><i></i>
