Home celebration
But
As long as we celebrate
The poems and songs that
Came from this man of cheerfulness
Hmmm sound a bit like Jim
I wonder if Jim has
And tangled roots
to Robbie?

“Ye Jacobites By Name”
It sounded kinda biblical
So
I looked it up
It was about the uprising for
Scotland’s Iindependence
Similar to the
American War of Independence
only this one was lost
To England
So abt 1747
“The Act of Proscription” was passed
Bagpipes and teaching Garlic was outlawed
Sheep became more valuable than people

It’s quite stirring
Many people were ousted from their homes,
Left or forced on ships to America
Often getting “typhoid fever”
Many dying
There were an estimated
70,000 people who left Scotland
“Clan” is Gaelic for children

The cranky Scottish grandfather

All set

Even tho it’s more Irish music
It’s all Celtic and the music merges

Between Irish and Scottish sounding
It’s All good

I love watching the video
Cause I may never see Scotland
Myself
But to see and hear the song by

It just stirs your heart and
See the the people
