Sure it would be great and I'm sure Jim wants one (what actor wouldn't?) but a statue doesn't prove anything.
I was watching the tribute to Blake Edwards and it was strange to see Jim with an Oscar in his hands! He's a terrific actor and I'm sure he'll get one someday but it doesn't mean much to me, I don't even watch the Academy Awards anymore!
Besides, I get a bigger kick at Jim being the artist who's won the most MTV Movie Awards, now THAT'S fun!

When Jim wins that oscar, I'll be in tears just like when he won the generation award. I was so happy for him and I will always be happy for him.

I would have to say that the Oscar from Jim will come from 23. It is a very different style movie for him, its a challanging role. Thats why i think he will get an Oscar for Number 23.

Sooo true... which serves him well in both comedy and drama... but lately it's his drama I crave... comedy is what drew me to him... but his ability to tap so deeply into his dark side and play it so well is what I hope wins him the Oscar... Number 23!! Jim commits to his characters so completely... I hope this movie grabs the academy's attention and doesn't let it go for a long time... they may have passed him over for Truman and Eternal, but they're NOT gonna get away it for 23... no WAY... well, for one, I won't allow it!!!
I can't wait to see what speech he will make when he wins (although it's sooo far away to even be thinking about that *sigh*) I think I will cry tears of joy for him too. Then I'll host a party after to celebrate. Woohoo!

I really do hope that he gets the oscar one day. But, seriously, they don't mean anything. Hitchcock never won a best director oscar, but he is still recognised as one of the greats
Number 23 and Ripley's look awesome, I just hope he doesn't get snubbed again.
Ps....freaky number 23...I am 23 years old! *spoooky!* lol

Does Hollywood make a movie just to get The Oscar?.
I understood that the making of a movie is for many purposes,
entertainment, enlightenment, education, emotional stimulation, inspiration, relaxation and many more. If the only
purpose to make a movie is to get the Oscar, I believe that is
a pretty lame reason.
I believe the Oscar is just a little pat on the back, saying
"Job Well Done"

Well said! I mean I saw the papers this morning and went 'Oh yeah right, the Oscars were last night!' The last time I watch them was three years ago and only because Jim was on.
