WHat bugs me....re the females in these roles...

Postby Canadian Jayne » Wed Sep 26, 2012 1:01 am

Often the women are scantily clad and
the guys are el modesto over their ears
Reality is, if these women were in any kind of
physical altercation, they not only would have sever
injury to their B,B, stomach etc, they probably wouldn't
even survive it.
Soooo.... why not give them a little extra padding or
invisible force field to protect them or is their intuition
so heightened that they don't need the extra Stuff.
Why doesn't anyone want to put any descent protective gear on them.
(Please, don't give me the reason "Sex sells")

Nellie McClung has already established the fact that
"Women are persons too"

It's a comic. It's a comic. And it's also a comic. Blame the comic. Not the movie.
They are bringing the comic to the screen and are trying to stay close to the source.
Don't like the style? Read / watch something else. It's that simple.

I must confess, the writing above is not my style ... but the remarks annoyed me a lot, also the ones about the violence (last week). These are semi-violent comics, the first movie wasn't half as violent as the original material. If you don't like that, you should just skip it. You can't watch a movie that knows what it is and blame it for what it is, you know. :|

By any chance, have you seen the first movie? The biggest highlight was how much Hit-Girl (who is only 11 years old in the storyline) is ridiculously skilled and violent. There was even a big debate when she said "All right you c*nts..."

You're comparing fictional characters to real life women. If you're looking for realistic depiction of women in "these roles," you're really not going to find much... Although I would recommend "Haywire" because the female lead character is a real life MMA fighter who performed all of her own stunts.

Thanks for the pic, laughing
gee KA sure looks shrimpy beside that big gal

you're right it IS a comic and
comics do as comics are

mostly fantasy,

I can see the story line as being really good

vigilante people wanting to keep their community safe
only thing is the violence can take over sometimes
crushing out the story and its purpose

When it talks about the young 11 yr old being that violent
that is not fantasy, i have heard of real life sits being like that also
