Owen Wilson Joins Jim Carrey In Jared Hess-Helmed Relativity Heist Comedy EXCLUSIVE: Fresh from The Internship, Owen Wilson is joining Jim Carrey to star in Relativity‘s Untitled Action Comedy directed by Napoleon Dynamite helmer Jared Hess. Based on an original screenplay by Emily Spivey, this comedy — it got known around town for the title Loomis Fargo, but that’s being changed — has a script by Chris Bowman (The Wrong Brother) and Hubbel Palmer (Humble Pie). Relativity has worldwide rights to finance, produce and distribute, and the film will be produced by Lorne Michaels and John Goldwyn through their Michaels-Goldwyn banner. Pic tells the fact-based story of a disgruntled armored car driver who is persuaded to risk it all for love, money, and extravagance. He and his cohorts liberate $20 million from a bank vault. They promptly double cross him, and as the driver’s left alone on the run in Mexico while they live the high life, he becomes obsessed with getting even. Danny McBride, Jody Hill, Michael Aguilar and Kevin Messick will be exec producers alongside Relativity CEO Ryan Kavanaugh and President Tucker Tooley.UTA-repped Wilson recently completed the Wes Anderson-directed Grand Budapest Hotel and is currently in Paul Thomas Anderson’s Inherent Vice. Relativity next releases the espionage thriller Paranoia on August 16, followed by the Scott Cooper-directed Out Of The Furnace on October 4, the Joseph Gordon-Levitt-directed Don Jon on October 18, and the Jimmy Hayward-directed animated buddy comedy Free Birds on November 1. links http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=105334http://variety.com/2013/film/news/owen- ... 200495074/

Owen Wilson? I don't think he's a very funny man (comedy comes from the script in his movies, not from him) or a great actor (there's nothing mentionable on his palmares) ... but I'm ok with that. I don't think he's a box-office magnet either, not for a movie like this.

Ya you're right. But he can be a good sidekick , like he was good in shanghai noon, knights as a sidekick for Jackie Chan. I liked it

I'm not so happy with Owen Wilson but... he's ok. It's not mentioned on any website, but i'm pretty sure that Wilson has signed on to play Steve Chambers, Dave's pal. Now, with this guys on board, Carrey and Wilson, they need two actresses - one for Dave's crush Kelly Campbell, and the other for Michelle Chambers, Steve's wife. Shooting in august ? Yeah, i think it's true

Yea, I think we can expect shooting already in August or September.
When they first announced the movie back in January it was with production start in April. Much of the work with locations has been done.
Owen Wilson is very busy filming movies all the time. These days he is filming "Inherent Vice" in LA. He has 4 movies coming out in 2014.

Thursday, June 13, 2013 8:36 am CST Morning I hope they will think of a name of the movie soon. I would like to see Jim Carrey in more dramas. I thought he was really great on the dramas he did earlier in his career. My very favorite Jim Carrey movie is "The Majestic". He was really great in that movie. Sincerely, Terry Marvin (Dallas, Texas) P.S. I hope Jim Carrey will do more dramas.

I've been researching William Llyon MacKenzie(first Mayor of Toronto) and some of his life was sooooo funny, weird, controversial... he ended up hiding out in New York for a time until he received amnesty, he was a News Paper man and just all the things that happened made me think that Jim would be great for this role. The setting is in the early 1800's to 1860's. This character would absolutely be ideal for him. With all the upheaval going on now in Toronto it would definitely be timely

I wonder ... ... What about the gun violence in Loomis Fargo ? I know it will be on a whole other level than Kick-Ass and it's based on actual events. But I wonder where he will draw the line and what the effect will be in his choices for future films. Not critisising his choice, btw.

That's a good question actually. But so far, there not much info about the movie so. We gotta wait. Beside, I think Dumb and Dumber To will be next.
