I've often wondered if he would go back to Canada at some point....i've never been but from what i've read Canada seems a much more peaceful, authentic and homely country. It's also insanely beautiful.........plus he can fly to the USA whenever he wants......Jane and Jackson could go too, or split their time........ I just wonder if it's time for Jim to go home now........

Only Jim knows that
I know when I was away after about a year and a half I was homesick for my family and friends

Maybe... but so far I don't see that possibility. Jane life is in USA and I don't see him separating from his daughter. I think he should be wherever he feel happy. I personally don't care where.... [But Jim, if you are considering Europe, let me just say, that Portugal is a very peaceful, beautiful and warm place to be - And me being Portuguese has nothing to do it! ]
I'm a guardian of the spark... I'm a God damn and proud good fan... and I love it! = )>

He's never seemed very 'LA' to me. I don't think Hollywood sits well with him - certainly not in the last few years anyway. No offence to any Americans, I'm sure you're all lovely, but he's Canadian. That level of loveability is unique to Canada (see John Candy also). But, I can't see him moving further away from his daughter/grandson.

LA has always struck me as a very insular and lonely place to be. I've often thought the reason we don't see him too frequently in the gossip mags is because he doesn't actually leave his home very much. He'll have set up his home to have everything he needs and friends will visit him but he won't leave the compound too much. I'm probably way off track but i've always said he reminds me of a bird in a gilded cage with his wings clipped. How sad an existence if you can't walk down the st without being hassled, or make an idiot of yourself without the national enquirer jumping on the story. And i guess i'm not just talking about Jim here but all those Hollywood birds in their cages.

Yeah, I was thinking that a while ago. You just don't see him in gossip mags and he's pretty much never papped. That's pretty impressive for someone with his level of fame. Actually I remember him saying relatively recently in an interview (maybe around DD2 time) something like he thinks fame is the 'worst thing anyone can do to themselves'? I'm sure I'm not imagining that. It gave me some sads as it suggests it's made him unhappy. Judging by things he's said lately, I think he really wants to back away from the limelight. Which I think is great if that makes him happy but still feel a bit to not see so much of him.

backing away is all well and fine if you live in an environment which allows you to do that. It's a helluva price to pay though.Every trip outside would need to be risk asessed first. NYC seemed to offer more freedom and annonymity but it's a long way from LA.,

Happy belated Valentine's Day to you too! I spent it with a friend getting drunk and ranting about the government. Perfect!

I think most of America will be moving to Canada if Trump gets his orange arse into The White House.
