First, I give half of it to the government.

I think I would invest enough to live well.

I would take additional and set up scholarships to college for kids who have immense potential and drive, but limited resources.

I would give it to Jim, since I've heard he is very needy.

I'd also set up academic scholarships and i'd fund various rescue centres..... :D

I'd then spend my life travelling and writing and having relaxed fun.......

Oh, I see now! Thanks for clearing that up, xmassmurdere! :)

Actually I have a lot of love too. But anyway....
If I had a lot of money, I would buy a house for myself and open a school for homeless kids.

fluffy - whip round ? I'm kinda uninitiated to such an activity.
If it is what I think it is, then it will be an invaluable lesson for the 12yr old kids on this board.
Stir one cup whipped cream round and round till it becomes unwhipped. Ok, you go first..... :D lol

Whip 'round - A weekly gift of licorice delivered to the person needing a "whip round's" mailbox. Right....right?

I'd also set up academic scholarships

Fluffy - I notice that you brazenly STOLE my scholarship intention.

Therefore I shall elaborate. Since I have the investments, it frees me up to travel around and visit all my scholars. So I would show up unannounced at their institutions on Sunday mornings.

If they are abed and don't answer the door, I come back around noon with a bunch of greasy food.

If they immediately answer the door, offer me a coffee and show me the latest assignment they are working on, I counsel them that they are in desperate need of a social life...and that such things are READILY available on college campuses...and tell them that my next visit will be some Saturday night and unless it's during finals, they'd better NOT be home.

Buy me an old farm and have many horses there. And other animals. *sigh*
