No, it's not bad of you. There's nothing bad in the Bible. If you look at the messages from Jesus.
A lot of the Old Testament Stuff is scary, but the things that Jesus preached are all good. And you can basically hang all the commandments on two of them. 1) Know that God is God. 2) Love your neighbor as yourself. From 1 John Chapter 2: My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. Basically, we're forgiven...but should try to treat others like we would like to be treated and to follow the commandments. These are rules in a lot of different religions though and I can't discount any that are based on love. "When in doubt, tell the truth."

I always found that God gave us the Bible as a manual. You can find it just about everywhere, hotels rooms, parents house, family heirlooms; fascinating factor people just don't read it. Every possible life situation has be clearly written about. He's trying to make life simple for us which is why he gave only ten laws to obey. We as humans can make life so complicated, he gave us a written hand book. You can buy one with (translations of complicated versus) and for different ages and languages. They all basically say the same thing. God first, Jesus second, people third and your life will blossom. That's the order of things. You have a problem, you look up the topic in the index and you will find a story or parable that directly relates to your situation. Its that simple. Humans can complicate a sneeze.
i heard from one of my more superstitious cousins that if you find an open bible in the hotel room, then it is haunted....is that true because i find that really wierd
I like the Bible. I read it recently..... one they keep in hotel rooms. I like the stories. The wordings/sayings are a bit confusing and can be interpreted in so many different ways (in my chaotic mind atleast). But its enough for me to know that Jesus believed in God so unconditionally .....sacrificed himself for the truth and throughout his life was so tireless and passionate in wanting us to know his Father.
How can one not believe him.... - “Although the world is very full of suffering, it is also full of the overcoming of it.” - Helen Keller
Isn't this post ironic since a lot of us said we don't want to see religious discussion on here.
It offends some people to read religious stuff. This isn't the place for it. THis is a Jim Carrey site Muse - 10, 11, 14, 22 & 23 November 2006
Muse - Wembley Stadium - 16 & 17 June 2007 Muse - Royal Albert Hall - 12 April 2008 Muse - 10 November 2009 & 13 November 2009 Muse - 11 September 2010
Religion as well as politics (and even sports to some extant) are controvertial issues... and discussing them openly will always bring up aspects that some people will agree with and others won't, some will be in favor and others against them... once we keep in mind and respect the fact that people have different beliefs and values and are driven by them we can have a good conversation about religion for instance.
I don't have a religion if I were to be categorized in one ... my religion, in my point of view, is God, believing in him, searching for him in every aspect of life... there is a psalm in the bible that I do like, believe and practice... and I wanted to share with you all if I may... Psalm 23: "The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I lack. In green pastures you let me graze; to safe waters you lead me; you restore my strength. You guide me along the right path for the sake of your name. Even when I walk through a dark valley, I fear no harm for you are at my side; your rod and staff give me courage. You set a table before me as my enemies watch; You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Only goodness and love will pursue me all the days of my life; I will dwell in the house of the Lord for years to come."
I like that Psalm, it is actually a song.It has a beautiful melody and is very uplifting, I sang it in a 100 voice
quior once, I love the song.
I don't want to start a fight or anything, and some may disagree, or believe differently. But I am 110% convinced that Jesus IS God. It's in the Bible I need to find Where, because I'm w/o a concordance right now But it's there, Surely you've heard John 3:16???
God was using Jesus body...yes God was Jesus(just my opinion) God uses all of our bodies in one time or another..when you do good-that was God.
This is my way of thinking, don't go to church, don't read the bible-altough I have read a couple of things-but anyway God can not be understood or he will not be God- Bah hum bug!!!!
