My dad has read it. And the DaVinci code you must remember is a fiction novel. And some say that it completely contradicts the bible in some areas. I Don't know I have never read it. But when reading fiction, you must remember it IS FICTION.

Don't apologize. the mind is a powerful tool. The only problem is most of us only use some of it. It's the people with psychokenisis and telekenisis, that know how to use more of thier brain, Imagine if everyone figured out how to use 100% of their mind? I think the world would end. Thats how poweful the mind is. . . or could be. :)

Actually the dangerous ones would be the ones that can use 100percent of their brain to harm... :?

I would use it for helping others with their inner self....I have a feeling that as I get older I am going to be one of those people that will be used to help people heal their soul-I have a gut feeling and my gut feelings are always right!

Ahh that is true, We would really have to rely on the good in people. Not the sturdiest of foundations.

Dude, I think it is awesome u want to read the Bible. The best thing to when u read it is start from the beginning and read at your own pace. Thats what I do. Plus it's good thing to do when your having a bad day. It has been a REAL big help for me theses pasy couple of days.

Try this little experiment, For 1 week keep a journal, every other day read the Bible, And notice the difference in the kind of day you have on the days you read the bible, compared to the days you don't. It's very interesting.

jimenem,
yes, the da vinci code IS fiction based on very true facts (not all - just most) if you care to delve into more of the borderline blasphemous, try reading Holy blood, Holy grail and The templar revelations which i am currently reading. don't get me wrong the bible is a great book inspired by God but translated by MAN and a lot of men with personal and political agendas. there are beautiful passages and then there those that contradict each other.

i don't mean to step on any toes but i do like to throw my 2 cents in occasionally on this topic. i was brought up lutheran and now i consider myself an exploring christian. since i believe that there is one only God, i believe he made many different mindsets/cultures to add diversity to the world. religions have always held such power over the people so if there was only one world religion (even christianity), that could be a little too much for any human to handle.

once again, just my opinion.

I don't think reading the bible is stupid. My teacher (20 years ago) in honors English said that she wanted to assign reading of the bible for it's literary quality, but she had other books to assign. I consider the Bible-books on tape recently. That might be fun to listen to.

not to start an argument but, The bible doesn't contradict itself. At least not the KJV. If it did then the entire christian religion wouldn't have the right to stick around. The bible is complete, True, and everlasting.
