Lemony Snicket - post when you see it

Discuss this movie. Available on DVD and Blu-ray.

I want to buy me the Lemony Snicket books now. But how many are they? I found three boxes: 1-3, 4-6, 7-9 and then part 10 and 11 alone. Damn, that are many but are there even more or is that all?
And what does "Rough Cut" mean? Is that only the looking of the book or does it mean that parts of the book were taken out because they were so brutal or something like that?
I'm qì, my friend.

When I say all of you I mean all of you. In this case all of you would be all of the JCO members.

Hi, I´m from Hamburg/Germany and this is my first reply!
It´s a very good movie! I had to laugh evertime I saw Olaf, Stefano and the captain! But I think without Jim Carrey the movie wouldn´t be so funny at all! :)

I have mixed emotions actually:
I Like it but was really expecting more :-& I think the story Iine is a IittIe boring......it doesn't compare much with the books......I'II say it's watchabe but not as BIG as it couId have been. :( Sorry guys/gurs!
Nevertheless, I still am a devoted fan!!!!

I can't do all the fancy stuff that goes in front of and behind the name,
maybe I'm just too lazy to figure it out.
Anyway, re the Lemony Books.
I enjoyed all of the books, they become better as you read more,
the last one leaves you hanging which is great because now many of
us are on the edge of our seats waiting for the next one to come out in
October #12
There are 11 books right now, they are very easy to read.
Some things are taken out of the books but nothing major
but I like the different additions especially to the characters Jim is in the movie as Olaf and his disguised counterparts.
If I were a child watching it, I might be a little scared (no probably a lot)
afaid of Olaf. But I like how it shows that kids can combine together and
make things a little bit better for each other, each person in a family has
their own talent and can contribute to the development of that family even if the parents are gone. I remember as a kid myself, combining with other kids and advising other kids who was safe to be around and who was not. It's like the Kid Code. "Protect Each Other"

I thought it was the best stuff comin' out of Jim. I am a hardcore fan and watching that movie makes me all the more a fan. But for a Nickelodeon movie it was pretty dark. 8)

I watched it again this weekend....

Postby Canadian Jayne » Mon Jan 23, 2006 7:08 pm

It does have a darker side to what one is use to Jim doing but in life there are dark sides and we sometimes have to learn to recognize them, sometimes we don't even see it until it passes us by.
I watched it on a small screen TV and it was hard to read Sunny's intrpretive lines.
If you don't want to invest in purchasing the books you can go to the library and they may have them.
I've read all of them and I'm glad I did. If I was 13 and read them, I probably would would think twice about reading anymore.

but sometimes they can be a comforting cloak too........a familiar 'face'......aim to embrace them......rather than fear them..
