lol............me too....... but i like to think i am intelligent and articulate enough to make a good observation and form my own opinions.........
On life, per se....I agree with you.
But I do think there is a place in the world for movie critics.

I'd rather ask the regualr Joe on the street than....listen to a Critic. So my next is Cheaper by the Dozen 2, I've been told it's better than the first, which is very unusual.
I know, I know this is a Fun with Dick and Jane review...but I will see it again, maybe get the video from my kids for Christmas in the new year. But naw I'll post this on another topic.. go see the other Topic....my review of Cheaper by the Dozen.....
So the first reviews in Belgium and the Netherlands (same language, that's why I look at both) are in. Not that good actually. Overall it gets 2.5 out of 5. Everyone is talking about nice moments including Carrey but weak, predictable and even stupid story.
I'm curious how I'm gonna feel. 15 days to go...
it does exactly what it says on the tin..........it's non-pretentious and non-patronising ,easy going, lighthearted and socially aware.........it's not The Shawshank Redemption but it never claimed to be..........it's just some fun........... ..........plus i agree it had to be made.......and instead of some tragic Story about the effects of Enron and corruption it's light-hearted.............i think the critics missed that and took it purely from a technical, artistic and intellectual snobbery viewpoint...........
But i'm not some blinded sycophant.....i'll say it as it is.......All in Good Taste and Copper mountain for example are dreadful...........and Simon Birch has a lot of flaws................ ...........but i think people over intellectualise movies sometimes and miss the whole point............ fluffy Last edited by fluffy on Wed Feb 01, 2006 6:54 pm, edited 1 time in total.

....but we're being TOLD in interviews, articles, etc, that it IS a film with a serious message.
To be totally honest, I'm getting really frustrated sometimes looking for something on the video shelf that isn't a heavy message movie and inappropriate for my mom or grandmother. "When in doubt, tell the truth."

I donĀ“t know. I dont know how it is to have a work. But I can imagine it and I think that it is funny to joke about some serious stuff sometimes.
