How about one my grandpa used to sing.
Last night as I lay on my pillow...
Last night as I lay on my bed...
I slept with my feet out the window...
Next morning my neighbors were dead.
Were dead
Were dead
Next morning my neighbors were dead were dead.
Were dead
Were dead
Next morning my neighbors were dead.
"When in doubt, tell the truth."

Take my hand my stubborn child
Don't look back at the past.
Remind yourself to look ahead
As life goes flying past.
Those darkened ghosts
they slow us down, and weight us with their pain.
Learn to let go, bid them adieu.
And learn to love again.

Timeless thoughts in a vacuum.
Caged savior faire.
Black curtains in the white room.
It's one hundred degrees in there.
I am sweeping the hall way.
I hear something through the door.
Perhaps by the end of day,
Loneliness won't rule anymore.
"When in doubt, tell the truth."

a hand,
a look,
a smile,
a word,
a lie,
a tear.......

...thanks Eskarpin...I liked yours too!
Rain on me
Drizzle light and cold, quenching skin and soul
Rain on me
Like a force never before, watch me stand the scour
Or just love me
Let me soar, eternal evermore

Like a rabbit in a cage I wonder.
Hiding under hay from rolling thunder.
Soon without you I will fall down.
Though stories never killled the clown.
If there is something you know, please,
Too weak to stand I'm on my knees.
I will nestle down with memories,
And change the color of the seas.
"When in doubt, tell the truth."

In praise of...the Elephant...lol
I wish I had your trunk, lined deep with knowledge
I wish I had your tusk, for Jim to hold and sway
I wish I had your eyes, serene amidst chaos
I wish I had your gait, unhurried and firm on its way
I wish I had your ears, listening to words wise
Not the least your tail, to swat those pesky flies away

Crammed against a brick wall,
Pinned there by a truck.
There's only two ways out, left or right.
I may remain there stuck.
Left is beconing but theres a catch,
I made a promise to right.
But right is too busy to help me loose
and I'm really stuck there tight.
Left could really help me, but I have an afinity for right.
Left would be the easy way,
but right would be the right.
I may give left a chance to help,
knowing that right would if she could.
But once I've exited stage left,
Stage right is gone for good.
