Carrey to play Scrooge in "A Christmas Carol"
05 Jul 2007 By Dan Rhodenizer (Web correspondent)
Jim Carrey is set to star in "A Christmas Carol" movie directed by Robert Zemeckis. The movie will be a motion capture animation with Jim Carrey playing Ebenezer Scrooge and Bob Hoskins as Mr. Fezziwig.
Zemeckis (well known for directing Forest Gump) has had past experience with motion capture animation. His last movie using this technique was "The Polar Express" and hes currently working on a new one called "Beowulf".
"He's going to make A Christmas Carol with Jim Carrey," Hoskins says of the director he previously worked with on "Who Framed Roger Rabbit". "He wants me to play Mr. Fezziwig. He's doing in that way he did Polar Express. You stand in a box with that funny suit on and it reads everything you do...Am I going to do it? Of course I am!"
There is no word on when the movie might shoot. We'll report on this as new information comes to light!
