"I Love You Phillip Morris" hits a wall
01 Jun 2010 By Nicola West (Editor/Writer (UK))
In April we wrote to tell you of the latest problems to befall the trouble hit "I Love You Phillip Morris".
Consolidated Pictures Group co-founder Timothy Patrick Cavanaugh denied that the fledgling company has lost the comedy.
"We're the distributors right now, we have a contract and we're asking Europa to deliver certain things," he told Deadline. "We've hired legal counsel, and if we need to go to arbitration, we will. We plan to distribute this film."
Since then it looks as though EuropaCorp have followed through with their plans to change distributor. The noticeable absence of the film on the distributors website, and the disappearance of the official website PhillipMorrisTheMovie.com strongly suggest Luc Bessons company has released CPG from their contract.
With no news about a new distributor or a release date in the USA, It looks as though patience might be the order of the day, you might be in for a very long wait...
