The Jim Carrey Handbook review
28 Jan 2011

Jim Carrey BookThe Jim Carrey Handbook is a new book written by Allison Grim. To me this book seems more like a guide to his movies and not much else. Jim Carrey's life is written about briefly and there is a major error in it. Jim did not spend 3 years in tenth grade. He never even stayed back at all.

Then there is a list of TV shows and specials he was on and the dates they aired. The rest of the book is facts, DVD info, CD info and the plots to each and every movie Jim Carrey has ever done. There is very little info about "Rubberface", "Copper Mountain", "The Sex and Violence Family Hour" and his upcoming movie "Mr. Popper's Penguins". If you are looking for a book with lots of pictures of Jim then this is not a book for you. The only photos included are movie posters, DVD covers, CD covers and one of him when he was in Spain on a special called 40 Principles.

Most of the information in this book came from IMDB.com and Wikipedia. I have read all the books written about Jim Carrey and this is not the worst one but its certainly not the best one. I think the best one is 'The Joker is Wild: The Trials and Triumphs of Jim Carrey' by Martin Knelman, which was published in 2000. It may not be updated but its the best one to read if you want learn a lot about Jim.
