Jim Carrey signed up for the comedy "Pierre Pierre" back in 2008. Since that time, no news have been published. Until today. The producer said today that it will go in production this Summer with Jim Carrey!
Jim Carrey will come to Europe. Because most of the production will take place in Germany and United Kingdom. Distributor deals have already been closed for many countries in Europe.
"Pierre Pierre" centres on a self-indulgent French nihilist (Jim Carrey) who steals the Mona Lisa from the Louvre in the hope of selling it so he can finally move out of his parents house.
Producers are Jason Blumenthal and Todd Black of Escape Artists, Matthew Rhodes and Cathy Schulman of Mandalay Vision and Marco Mehlitz of Lago Film. Rhodes is in town touting the comedy. Steve Tisch and David Bloomfield of Escape Artists and Damon are executive producers.
The comedy from writers Edwin Cannistraci and Frederick Seton was once budgeted at $20 million, but now stands at $30 million due to a strong supporting cast who are now in talks. Larry Charles (Brno, Borat and many episodes of Curb Your Enthusiasm) directs.
