Official First Look at Jim Carrey in "Burt Wonderstone"
18 Dec 2012 By Tommy Pihl (JCO Editor-In-Chief)
New Line Cinema has revealed, via USA Today, the first two official movie stills from Jim Carrey's upcoming comedy "The Incredible Burt Wonderstone".
The new photos feature Steve Carell as the title character Burt Wonderstone, Jim Carrey as Burt's nemesis Steve Gray, a rival Las Vegas magician who has stolen the title character's thunder. We also get a look at supporting players Steve Buscemi as Burt's magical partner Anton, Jay Mohr as Rick the Implausible, Alan Arkin as Rance Holloway, and Michael Herbig as Lucius Belvidere.
Along with the photos in USA Today there is an article with some comments from the director Don Scardino. Hair is a big part of the Las Vegas magic world, where Carell's Burt Wonderstone and his loyal partner Anton rule for decades.
"This is definitely a wig picture," says director Don Scardino. "The hair budget was killer. Jim Carrey wears a really outrageous one."
The arrival of the long-haired street magician Steve Gray disrupts Wonderstone's perch at the top of the illusionist heap.
"He's the very edgy magician who begins to pull the attention from Burt and Anton," says Carell of Carrey's character. "He's my nemesis."
"The Incredible Burt Wonderstone" hits theaters on March 15, 2013. Click on the photos below to see them in big size:
