Jim Carrey Considered To Replace Philip Seymour Hoffman
25 Apr 2015 By Eva Arajo (Web correspondent)
If there's one thing that happens a lot in the entertainment industry is that things can go 180 degrees in a blink of an eye.
Shalom Auslander is the showrunner of the "Showtime" dark-comedy "Happyish". This is his first time doing television and he already started with a problem to solve and it took two years to come together.
Happyish is an "original comedy series about a 44-year-old ad executive who struggles to find meaning and happiness in his life after a pair of 25-year-old wunderkind bosses arrive". The actor Philip Seymour Hoffman was set to play this character but unfortunately his death a few weeks before the pilot being shoot, changed everything.
After deciding to go forward with the project, the creator had to cast someone to play this character.
And Jim Carrey was one of the people named to replace Hoffman. Jim apparently talked with Showtime as well as many others. At the end the actor Steve Coogan was the one who got the part.
If Jim had been cast this would be a return to television since 1994, when Jim finished his participation in "In Living Color".
Regardless, we believe things are suppose to happen in certain ways and we at JCO will keep you updated as more news come.
