As the year of 2016 comes to an end, we at Jim Carrey Online decided to resume for you all what has happened in 2016 and show you what to expect in 2017.
In April 12, 2015, the movie directed by Ana Lily Amirpour called "The Bad Batch", begun production.
The movie stars a lot of actors, including Jim Carrey who plays a mute vagabond/good Samaritan strolling around the desert wasteland with shopping cart in tow and who end up saving the life's of two other characters.
In the show Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee Jim Carrey talked about the role he was preparing for and said: "I'm about to go up north to Marin County and do a silent retreat for 5 days, so I won't be speaking during the film. I don't speak."
The runtime for the movie is 1 hour and 58 minutes (118 minutes), even though Jim Carrey's part is just 10 minutes. It premiered in Italy, at the Venice Film Festival, in September 6th 2016. The movie had mix reviews, but it still won the Special Jury Prize.
This year "The Bad Batch" got US thetrical distribution by Screen Media Films and Netflix for streaming on demand in USA.
As of December 2016, we know it will have theatrical release in the beginning of 2017, although, no release date has been announced.
We at JCO are looking forward for 2017 and for this movie to be seen by the main public. Until then, we will keep you updated as more news come.
