SNL Cold Open with Jim Carrey (10/24/20)

With the final Presidential debate being more of the same as the first, the SNL writers will have to step up to deliver the heartier laughs. Interestingly enough, Maya Rudolph appears not as Kamala Harris but as this debate's moderator Kristen Welker with the mute button on standby.
Once again, we have Alec Baldwin's Donald Trump and Jim Carrey's Joe Biden returning to the podium bringing much more to their portrayals than in past weeks. In the case of Carrey, he gives Biden more of an edgier approach threatening to go violent at every turn. Plus, whenever Trump speaks one of his lies, Biden reacts hilariously with Jim naturally using his rubberface to the extent. At one point, Jim switches to impersonating Clint Eastwood when Biden was "Eastwooding" about Trump having no plan.
When the Hunter Biden scandal gets brought up, Kate McKinnon makes a sudden appearance as Rudy Guliani getting caught in an "awkward" position. You can tell at any moment that Jim can turn into one of his famous characters when Biden finally hits rage mode even though it may not happen. Also, Biden said "malarkey" twice prompting Welker to show off her Biden Bingo card.
