Best of 2022: Verizon Super Bowl Ad
16 Dec 2022 By Eva Arajo (Web correspondent)
On February we were treated with a gift we weren't expecting. Jim Carrey hasn't done many sequels of his movies and even less ads so seeing Jim starring in a new Verizon Ad, for the Super Bowl was a huge event!
Even more because he brought back one of his older characters: "The Cable Guy".
The ad is so funny and cool! The ad starts with the Cable Guy wearing his blue jumpsuit, knocking on someone's door to installed cable. But the lady who answers completely dismissed him by saying she has "Verizon 5G Internet". He has a hard time believing she can have internet without miles of cable but she confirms it and then he ask to see it. She let him inside the house where he see the white cube rooter.
The Cable guy analyses it and keep asking a lot of question that she answer quickly, dismissing him completely. At the end he seems convinced and says he will return to check it again the following day. The lady tells him no, but he pretends not to be hearing it and leave the house, knocking on the next apartment door, yelling: "Caaaable Guy!"

The final Verizon ad was 60 seconds long, the spot likely cost around $13-14 million. After the Super Bowl more clips went online.
In this 30-second ad, he also does karaoke but the song is "I Can't Feel My Face" by Jim Carrey's friend, The Weeknd! From the new album Jim was part of.
In the week before the Super Bowl Jim Carrey shared a teaser video for the ad on his official social media account, Twitter. With the text: This Sundayhes back and he just wants to connect!
It was the best news for fans. Revive a character he hasnt played for over 25 years. Check it here:
