"The Grinch" considered for Visual Effects nomination
12 Jan 2001 The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced on January 10 the films to be considered for this year's Visual Effects Oscar®. As expected "The Grinch" is among the seven titles listed.
Fifteen-minute clip reels from each of the films will be screened for the Visual Effects Award Nominating Committee on February 7. The commitee members will then nominate three for Oscar consideration. These films will be announced along with the rest of the Oscar nominees on February 13, at 5:30 a.m. (PST).
The films under consideration are as follows:
"Cast Away"
"Dinosaur"
"Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas"
"Gladiator"
"Hollow Man"
"The Perfect Storm"
"X-Men"
