Pirates are "Doing Time On Maple Drive"
12 Jul 1998 The following warning was recently posted on the Web regarding the commerce of illegal copies of "Doing Time On Maple Drive":
"The Motion Picture Association of America's (MPAA) Anti-Piracy Operations has advised VSDA that a Las Vegas distribution company is offering video cassettes for sale with the titles "The Boxer" (the 1990 film's real title is "Big Man Crossing The Line") starring Liam Neeson and Joanne Whalley-Kilmer, directed by David Leland; and "Faces In The Mirror" (real title for this 1992 film is "Doing Time On Maple Drive") starring Jim Carrey and Lori Laughlin, directed by Ken Olin.
Member companies of the MPAA own the rights to these pictures. As of August 1, 1996, neither is currently available legally in video cassette format. The cassettes being offered for sale by the Las Vegas firm are pirated. The cassettes in question bear the name "Punchline Productions" as the manufacturer.
Anyone purchasing these cassettes and offering them for sale can be subject to legal action."
