A Christmas Carol Update
02 Jul 2008 By TNPihl (JCO Editor-In-Chief)
Gary Oldman (Batman Begins, Harry Potter movies) has unveiled that he will be playing three characters in Jim's upcoming film "A Christmas Carol". He plays Jacob Marley, Bob Cratchit, and Tiny Tim.
In an interview with 'Slash Film.com' Gary told more about the film:
I saw the designs, and the realizations of London and the characters. The design of it, and the look of it, is beautiful. Its quite stunning. It should be quite magical.
They put you in a trench. Theyre on platforms that they wheel in and wheel out. So youve got all this crew moving floor around. And when Im walking on my crutches, the actors are much higher than me, so the eyelines work. And later they will animate little legs on me, Oldman said. It would be so expensive to do it (live action). And you can do things with the ghosts that you couldnt do in the more conventional way. Much like (Batman Begins and The Dark Knight), Zemeckis has sort of reinvented The Christmas Carol. Its probably closer to how Dickens saw it.

As we know Jim will be playing Ebenezer Scrooge, Ghost of Christmas Past, Ghost of Christmas Present, and Ghost of Christmas Yet To Come.
"A Christmas Carol" is set to arrive on November 6, 2009.
