"Believe it or Not" - Close to new director
11 Jul 2008 By Nicola West (Editor/Writer (UK))
Recently many of you have been asking what's the deal with "Ripley's Believe it or Not" and basically we're asking the same question ourselves.
Information has been slow in updating since Tim Burton decided to drop the movie but in a recent interview Jim did say to his knowledge it was still a runner and he was just waiting for the signal to start.
The release date of 2009 is doubtful in the current situation and no more actors have been linked to the project since Jim Carrey and Gong Li. As far as we know the delay has been down to a major re-write by Steve Oedekerk (Bruce Almighty).
Recently Kenneth J. Atchity, producer, send JCO this interesting status:
... We are close to choosing the new director. When thats official Ill let you know. It will be someone good, as we have a number of great candidates.
So there you have it! Basically we don't know much more than you lot but rest assured, the moment we get one snifter of news we'll update you.
In the meantime while away those long bored nights with "Friends Like These" by Danny Wallace. As you know Danny wrote "Yes Man" and "Friends Like These" is his latest tummy tickler. I highly recommend it and would go as far as to say it's his funniest yet. So go investigate it and that means you too Jim! For the funniest read of the Summer.
